BEIJING, April 21 (Xinhua) -- China has offered a set of hi-resolution imageries of the Ecuador quake zone, captured by satellite Gaofen-2 to aid relief work, according to the China National Space Administration (CNSA) on Thursday.
Saturday's earthquake, the strongest in Ecuador for over 35 years, has claimed more than 500 lives, and injured nearly 6,000 others.
The images of the region before and after the quake were provided on Wednesday after a request from the Ecuador's government.
The CNSA will also organize a group of experts to analyze the images and coordinate the Gaofen-1 and Gaofen-2 satellites to keep observing the affected area.
Gaofen-1 and Gaofen-2 were launched in 2013 and 2014 among seven high-definition observation satellites to be put in orbit by 2020.
